The Candidate
House District 30 Candidate Ysante McDowell was born and raised in Union County, SC. Some of her childhood was from Jonesville to Spartanburg, to Union, SC. Raised in a single parent home had its challenges but her mom made sure that her 2 girls were not without. Ysante has spent her adult life mostly in Spartanburg County along with her husband of 25 years and their son and daughter.
Choosing to run for office did not happen overnight. She's been contemplating a run for a few years. Now just seems like the right time. As a woman, a wife, a mother, a business owner, and a woman of faith, the candidate whole heartedly runs on God, faith, and family. The desire is to always not only be accessible but to be an example of doing the work and not just giving out commands. Her heart is one that believes in treating all justly and fairly. She is one who believes that what you do for others does not have to be broadcast because it comes from the heart. Life's experiences has taught her both how to be abase and how to abound. She has experienced what its like to have and to have not. Her passion is to serve and be of service to all who would allow her to with no strings attached. Love hurts no one and a smile uses less muscles.
